Government Student Aid

Canadian citizens and permanent residents pursuing post-secondary education can apply for financial assistance from the federal and provincial governments. These goverment student loans are interest free while you attend full-time studies and repayment begins six months after you stop being a full-time student with an interest rate set at the time of approval.

The amount of financial assistance that you are eligible to receive is dependent on your financial need and personal circumstances.

Applying for Government Student Aid

Those seeking government student aid are advised to apply as early as possible. Processing times may range from four to six weeks and must be completed prior to the semester in which you are using the loan.

Please note that you MUST apply through the province in which you are a student (the province in which you spent 12 consectuive months as a non-full-time student).
